Quilt Market--cool stuff and free stuff!
Most of our Market wanderings consist of visiting friends and checking out cool booths--you know, to see fabric and of course quilts!
So I'm strolling along one of the main aisles and I did a complete double take when passing the Kangaroo Kabinets booth. I already have a perfectly serviceable sewing cabinet. And to be honest, that sort of furniture really doesn't get my heart racing. But that was before I met "Olivia".
Insert heavy sigh here. Isn't this the cutest sewing machine cabinet in the history of sewing machine cabinets? Why yes, it is. Olivia comes in that adorable green or in white. I'm trying very hard to justify the purchase of an Olivia--I truly believe I could make cuter quilts with her help.
Here's a quilt I recognize! It's called "Vintage Delight" and is hanging in the Lecien booth...I designed it out of their always gorgeous Durham Quilt Collection fabrics and you can find the free pattern on their website.
Speaking of free...how about a give-away? Moda Home always has a nifty freebie and this time was no exception. How cute is this teatowel calendar?? I just so happen to have a couple of spares courtesy of my good friends the URBAN CHIKS. Maybe you've heard that Pam and I know the Urban Chiks??
Well we do, and their new line "Sweet" is so wonderful I can hardly stand it.
What's that pink and white package? That's a product called "Lickety Grip". It's stuff you put on your fingers to help you grip fabric. It's great for sewing, quilting and even for helping you keep your bra straps up. I was given a demonstration of the product and I was impressed. Non toxic, non greasy, and best of all, no smell.
So maybe you'd like to try it?
Hmmm...how about we round out the giveaway with a couple of new Late Bloomer Quilts patterns?
OK, you all know the drill...leave a comment and I'll pull a name (or 2) this weekend!

Wow! I can't believe I'm the second to leave a comment. Love your charming and sweet quilt patterns and your blog, too.
(Especially the g-pig pictures - they almost make me want to adopt one - and make a mini bee costume.) Thanks for letting me enter. Judy B.
Oh, I want Olivia too...in white..pretty please!!! Fabulous quilt design!
Oh yes.....I need to justify buying Olivia too! Too darling!
Love your quilt!
Olivia is beautiful. And the pink sewing machine - wow.
I'd love some patterns and lickity split! Fun times at Quilt market. Thanks for sharing.
I know. Can't we put it up there in your room somewhere so we can sew together?
I saw that Olivia cabinet too, and it is just adorable!! I had the same thoughts as you. Still trying to justify it, somehow can't just yet.
I flipped over that sewing cabinet too!! I already have a great sewing cabinet, but don't you think my "Hello Kitty" machine I bought for my granddaughter would look adorable in that?!
*groan* I think I need that sewing cabinet! Right now I'm sewing on a retro table from the fifties. Which, of course, would match that tea towel!
Your quilt design is awesome! I hope I live to a thousand, there are so many quilts I want to make.
Allie
Oh my I would love a pattern of yours...Sweet Bouquets.....or maybe Butterflies...anything with my name on it would be great. Love your site.

Glad you had a good time at Market. That sewing machine table is over the top cute!
Okay. . . I don't have a sewing 'cabinet'. . . (just an old farm table that I sew on . . .)
Hmmm. . . . I think I feel a list of justifying why I suddenly '"need" a sewing 'cabinet'. . . (clarify that. . . a CUTE sewing 'cabinet') ! ! !
xo, Bren
I love that cabinet, it is much morn stylish than my old horn sewing cabinet. Thank you for sharing!
Oooooh, Olivia sure is pretty. I am sure she would help make beautiful quilts. I wonder if it is time for a sewing room makeover?
Olivia looks a lot like the desks we had in college ages ago and not as business like as the newer ones.

Wow....what a give away. And I agree that the sewing cabinet is the cutest ever.
Great giveaway - I love the vintage look of the tea towel calendar. Wouldn't that look swell at my cottage -- it would match the vintage plaster fruit that hangs above my sink (they came with the place and just seem to "go"). Hope I'm the lucky winner! Thanks for being so generous. (Too bad that the company isn't having a giveaway for an Olivia!)

I agree...what a darling sewing table. I just took a gander at your patterns & how sweet they are - esp. the bags with the graphics (do the graphics come with the pattern?)...I'm only just learning how to quilt now - actually by hand not machine and my goodness I think I want to use the machine & speed it up!
Thank you for the chance to win...the Moda calendar is darling - I have some fabric that matches it. And, I just saw the Moda Sweet fabrics - appropriate name - I must get some.

Hello, and what a great post!!! I'm sooo glad to see that they are making painted sewing cabinets like that. How cute is that green!!! And my Mom always had the calendar tea towels. I remember drying dishes with them as a child. It was always fun to pull those out of the drawer and look at the dates on them.
Betsy
I'm so jealous of you at the quilt market- thanks for sharing it with us.

Wow, I love that sewing cabinet. I just had to check it out. I like your blog, thanks for sharing.
So, it must be fate...last night I was complaining about my current sewing table and my DH said, just get a new one and don't worry about it. And to that I said, well what would I do with the old one? And he said, who cares, we can just chop it up and put it in the trash. Whoa. That is not the DH I know that saves every THING! It's a sign I am destined to have the Olivia. And better yet, it's my oldest kitty's name. We now call her Old livia...hee. Please drop me in the bucket for the free pattern...my luck is running high! Pam in Chico
Count my name in for the draw! Love your site and popping in to see what you're up to. Great seeing the photos from market - couldn't make it again this year (darn!). Love the quilt design . . . I'll be checking into that for sure. - Marlene
