Sewing Fun

There's no getting around it, it really is December. And that means we need to be making cute stuff, right?
Pam and I always have so much fun when we get together--with the exception of her sneezing because of Presley (who you can spot in the background). That makes me feel terrible so I try to make up for it with cookies. I'd make coffee for her but I don't know how.

Side note--did you know that the cheapo Betty Crocker sugar cookie mixes are really good if you use real butter, roll the dough balls into cinnamon and sugar and bake for just a smidge less time than the instructions say?

Anyway, yeah, I made it to Target in record time--and hey, if I'd counted on her to drive we wouldn't have the last aqua set!

And that's the set I'll be playing with.

Here's a sneak peek of the mittens we embellished when we got together, and what's that they're on top of? A quilt, perhaps?
Yes, it is, and it's a fast quilt that I'll be sharing the instructions for just as soon as the binding is finished.

So stay tuned!

Hachoooooooooooooo! Don't mind me, It's not Presley... I'm just allergic to cute stuff I'm jonesing to make! Dreamy cuteness! I'm especially dying over your crocheted flower. HOW CUTE!

Love the pic of the socks and your secret quilt... it could be a desktop wallpaper. And the BC cookie mix... we bought a giant Cosmo Kramer size box at Costco... and I LOVE those cookies. It's the butter, for sure. I rolled mine in sugar... never thought to do cinnamon too. Mmmm... like Snickerdoodles I bet.

Those cookies were good. I love the chewiness of them. Snickerdoodley without the cream of tarter, which I don't like.

Love your stuff, now I need to get busy with my stuff.

Did you make the crochet flower??? SO SO Cute! All of it is! I mean it. . . you own the cute corner!
. . . & the Betty Crocker cookie mixes. . . ?!!! They are all actually really good! (When I taught - I learned about them . . . they were lifesavers. . . & now I'm hooked! I always have some in the pantry.) I will have to try 'snickerdoodling' them - sounds wonderful!

Love your adorable winter accessories - however I do wonder what you California girls are going to do with mittens, hat & scarfs? We're getting 4 more inches of snow today in Iowa so I'm rushing to Target to get my set of goodness too. We need them here. Winter is starting much too early for us, we haven't recovered from the winter last year or the flood this summer. I hope I get to Target in time! Thanks for your great "stuff"! Terry in snowy Iowa.

Fun!!! I can't wait to see what the two of you are making!

I love the idea of the BC cookie mix. I've never tried them. I love the idea of making them all snickerdoole like.

The quilt underneath is gorgeous! Lots of cuteness going on here!

Elizabeth,
So - How do you make those amazing crocheted flowers I keep seeing popping up on both your and Pam's blog? Would you be willing to share your amazing information? I'm craving them like crazy!

Elizabeth,

Your things are always so cute. And of course the colors are wonderful. But what about the crochet things? Did you make the flowers, leaves and trim? I know you can crochet.

Hugs,
Tamara

Pam got it right - cream of tartar - ick. And for the record I hate dried nutmeg. I've banned it from my home. I little fresh nutmeg is ok -but don't over do it. Ya know.

The colors speak to me - the aqua and blue, the pink and then that green dot with it in the last pic.

Speaking of beautiful things - I love my "vintage christmas" quilt. I was so excited to hang it up for Christmas since I made it after Christmas last year. I have a pic on my blog. It is so pretty!

Hi Elizabeth! Love that they are such sweet pastel colors. That just lifts up my spirits to see those aqua and pink sweet things. And, oh, the green and white polka dot on that background secret quilt? My green and white polka dot collection is growing ...I must have 15 different ones by now! I am excited to see the pattern. Hi,

So cute! I was cleaning out an old box of projects and found my little crocheted posies. I had forgotten about them, guess I'll have to make some pink ones now. I can hardly wait to see the finished outfits.
