sewing savant

It's no surprise that I love making quilts. It's actually more accurate to say that I love sewing.

Applique has never really been a problem for me--of course I have gotten better with practice.

This morning I have to admit I came across a project that completely defeated me. After ripping it apart four times, yes four times, this is the best I could do. Here it is, in all its wonky, misshapen and barely-held-together glory:

Beaten by a potholder.
Sigh.

That is very funny! Amazing how we all can do some very difficult and intricate tasks, but when it comes to the simplest ones, we struggle a little. But remember it is a potholder.

I don't do well with potholders either. So join the group.

Hahaha -- you can still be the boss. Stick it on a hot pan and scream "I'll show YOU!"

*grin* Those potholders are nasty critters, don't blame yourself. I tell you, they have a secret agenda. Don't let them get you down! ;-)

Potholder: "I'll show her! I wanted to be one of her beautiful quilts. Admired by millions. Gazed upon and loved! But, oh, no. She made me into a lowly, common potholder! Revenge, I say, revenge!!!"

I'm shaking my head because I've been there. I was beaten up by a simple apron once. It killed my desire to try another pattern. I will, of course, but it does really burst your bubble when you come along a project that frustrates. It is kind of like life. You think you've got something down and then life sends a curve ball.
