yarn update and some sneak peeks

It's me again...briefly coming up for air. It's Market time so I'm currently drowning in fabric. I'm not having a booth this time, yet somehow I'm just as busy as usual. Go figure.

Anyway, I wanted to answer a couple of questions that came up last time...regarding the crocheted pillow, here's the book I used.

I'm not sure if it's available in the US; Pam ordered it directly from Rooster Yarns in England.

As for my little knit shrug, here's the link for the free pattern. It was super easy and quick.

I've again had the pleasure of playing with Lecien's upcoming fabrics...here are bits of a couple of the projects. I love the bright Spring colors!

As for that fabric in the top photo? That is currently my favorite piece of fabric in the entire world and I'd cover my entire home with it if I could. Walls, furniture, windows, beds...this particular piece will be on the back of a quilt...it's from the upcoming Flower Sugar line. Isn't it wonderful?

It's another...

YARN POST. I know, not really a surprise, is it?

I did finish my first sweater...and so far Dummy (she doesn't have a name) is the only one who has worn it. It does fit, but seems a little too...oh I don't know. Maybe I just haven't figured out what to wear it with. But it was fun and I had to immediately race out and get more yarn.

This next sweater is not as much fun to make. In fact, it's been a bit boring. The only thing that's keeping me going is wondering how the heck this ever-growing rectangle is gonna turn into an actual sweater. I'll keep you posted.

On the crochet front, I did finish the pillow! Yay! And I love it. It's from a British company called Rooster. For some reason my absolute FAVORITE (favourite?) yarn patterns seem to always be by British designers.*

I did change the flowers and leaves on the pillow since I simply could not make sense out of the instructions. But I highly recommend the project and am planning on making several more. The pillow is kept on top of a plastic bin in my studio since I'm too afraid to put it out on an actual piece of furniture.

*It is entirely possible that I could have a new favorite source for crochet projects. I picked up these 2 books recently...and they are filled with the loveliest of crochet designs. Unfortunately the page numbers are the only part that's in english, so that will likely be an issue.

Next up: QUILTS. Yes, really!

Anybody still out there??

I can't believe it has been a month since I've posted something. It's been almost that long since I've been to bloglines, and that's kinda scary, too.

The longer it's been, the harder it is to get back to it. I've missed everything about blogging but am determined to jump back in!

I have been quite busy...and some of it is stuff I can't show. Not yet, anyway. Unlike Pam, I'm not a celebrity stunt sewer, but I have become a sewer of yet-to-be-introduced fabric designed by a celebrity in the quilting world, and that's pretty cool. But secret.

Here's something that's not secret...Pam and I have been playing with the new Lecien offerings and this little group is lots of fun. It's called "Lovely Punch Girl's Collection" and please don't ask me what that means. Isn't that little deer adorable?

Anyhoo, I've still been taking pics of stuff so will be getting back into the groove of posting again. And reading blogs again. And wondering where the hours have gone!
